UNITECH expands in-house advanced quality control
UNITECH has invested in a state of the art, top of the line, metallurgical preparation facility intended for precise and accurate examination of materials.
The new equipment includes but is not limited to:
- Precision water cooled cutting machine
- Hot mounting press for complex samples and increased productive capacity
- Top of the line automatic grinding and polishing machine capable of preparing six samples simultaneously for maximum productivity and reproducibility
- Automatic cleaning unit for maximum cleanliness during preparation
- Optical microscope with magnifications ranging from 25X to 500X for both macro- and micro examination
- Vickers automatic micro hardness tester with test loads ranging from 10 gf to 10 kgf
- State of the art focusing system ensures fast and automatic focus on all surfaces
- Automatic exchange of lenses and indenter eliminates number one cause of machine alignment
- High precision analytical balance with readability of 0,0001 g
- Ventilation chamber which is tested and approved after EN 14175
- Automatic Electrolytic Preparation Equipment for maximum productivity and reproducibility during etching of specimens
Already performed at UNITECH
- Feritscope (Ferrite Content) Measurements
- PMI
- Penetrant Testing
- Brinell and Rockwell Portable Hardness Testing
The above equipment enables UNITECH to perform in-house advanced quality control to examine metallography and material integrity of sophisticated alloys such as AISI 316, Duplex, Super Duplex, 6Mo and Inconel. Particular focus will be given to weld metallurgy control, including ferrite measurements, micro examination, macro examination, hardness testing, PMI, penetrant testing and corrosion testing. Furthermore, the material lab will serve as an important center for product improvement and innovation.
