Stord

Centerpiece of the UNITECH Stord facility in Norway is a 100M NKr investment in a vertical bundling machine and separate extrusion line for the manufacture of HFL / EFL and Umbilicals. The quayside plant’s deepwater access allows for loading and unloading of 1,000 ton carousels for umbilicals and cables in as little as three days.

The UNITECH Stord facility comprises:

  • 10,000 sq. ft. Umbilical Factory & Termination Facility with deepwater port and direct North Sea access
  • 5,000 sq. ft. Test & Qualification Center
  • White Welding Shop – ultraclean environment for Inconel and Duplex stainless steel

Flying leads and umbilicals production

  • HFL / EFL and Umbilicals manufacturing with configurations up to 18 tubes with second pass possibility
  • Tubes in stock for rapid turnaround – bundling and extrusion within four days
  • The flying lead machine is tailor-made for shorter lengths and quick turnaround, but can be readily adapted for continuous production up to 6km using in-line welding technology
  • Siemens fully automated Control System for accurate control and logging – speed, back twist and lay length
  • Quayside deepwater shipping access
  • Gas lift, service and control lines
  • Complete production facility with own extrusion line for the outer sheath
  • Electrical and fiber optic lines can be incorporated.

Integrated, single source solutions supply of flying leads and connectors:

  • Custom flying leads / umbilicals terminated with single bore / MQC terminations on reels ready for shipment quayside.
  • Reconfigurable and reusable flying lead systems significantly reduce spares inventory requirements across multiple developments.
  • UNITECH Single Source Solutions eliminates the need for various sub-contractors for supply of components that can lead to higher costs, longer lead times, and increased probability of unexpected delays.
